Ancient Bengali Wisdom

I have finally worked out why we use jeera in chholar dal: to camouflage the insects.

I bet all this time you thought it was for the taste.

You , on the other hand, do not need to use Jeera because I think Rahul would be quite happy to know you are serving up insects in cholar dal ? Or is he out of that phase and screaming ewwww ?

Minka -- Depends on his mood, but yes, probably happier eating insects than not. In this case though I had adult guests in mind. Who might not view insects with the same enthusiasm.

Starry -- :)

Aneela -- Ugh! You tell her I said that, OK?

Gayatri -- Speak for yourself. I'm sure you have these thoughts too. :P

Eek, I hate jeera. I would make my mom take it out of everything that I was ever served to eat as a child.
