A Conversation

Vicky went to the shops and this is what I got from his son:

Bhabbles: Baba kutai gechhey? (Where is Baba?)

Me: [mischievously] Baba paliye gechhey. (Baba has run away.)

Bhabbles: Baba tomar theke paliya gechhey? (Baba has run away from you?)

Some day, I tell you, I shall pack up my bags and leave. Then they’ll be sorry.

Sigh. He's turning out as bad as me.
I once triumphantly repeated to Ma what I'd overheard Baba mutter to himself after a former argument : "Baba bolchhe amader jonyoi naki tomar shonge akhono shongshaar korchhe"(Dad said that he's still living with you for our sake). Needless, to day, it didn't quite go down well with Ma.

MiM -- They do hold things up, don't they? :)

JLT, Ro, Panu, Cee -- Just bring out the sympathy and skip the giggles.

Poppy, Sole -- With my luck she wouldn't care to acknowledge me.

Starry-Eyed -- Oh I stop at dire threats of future departure. Am too lazy to pack my bags.

Dipali, Telsto, Shub -- :P

Casuarina -- Yes, I can understand your mother might have taken offence...

M4 -- Me neither!
