Such Crap

An anti-lefties article.

What crap. And parents read stuff like this and get psyched out and then force their poor kids into something their bodies are not naturally wired to do.

hav a post in draft on this topic... will soon publish.. ojas is leaning towards the left and MIl is getting frantic and forcing him to use right
seems it creates psychological probs if one does that

that article is really stupid!

It might have some statistical relevance which can truly be fathomed by molecular biologists alone perhaps. But will it really turn parents into such fanatics as you suggest?

My husband is a leftie and i think it was genetic since his mama was one too. Unfortunately his mom tried to make his brother a rightie and now he is all "confused". I've already told people that if my son is a leftie - that's how he'll be.

Itchy -- Oh dear. I don't know so much about harm, because I do know two forced lefties who seem pretty OK psychologically(!), but it seems such a silly thing to do. Tell her he'll be a killer batsman if she lets him use his left.

Aargee -- Yes.

Orange Cat -- Unfortunately, yes. Some parents can be quite desperate to wipe out what they think will be a liability for their child. It's a very natural feeling.

Swati -- Hello. :) See? You're living proof. If, indeed, proof were needed.

DC -- Good for you!

Coffeerock -- Yup. For some reason I used find lefties damn cute. I had a lefty friend in school and we used to be able to copy very comfortably from each other's test papers because we sat at differing angles. :)
