Rabindranath Tagore

Through the silent night
I heard the knockings at my heart
Of the morning's vagrant hopes
Sadly coming back.

I'm not a huge fan of his but these lines I came across at the Rabindra Sadan Metro station made a lot of sense to me.

In my generation we call this the 3 a.m. blues.

I recently discovered the video of Tagore's "Aakash Bhora" on YouTube from the Ritwik Ghatak movie "Komal Gandhar." It's simply divine - the words, music and the pictures!

I can understand it so much more better now, with passing age. This of course comes with a label of being "ancient" from my friends. :)

Beautiful, poignant poem.

First Rain -- Yes, Robin Tag needs age or at least maturity beyond one's teens for real appreciation.

The tag automatically follows!

Dipali -- I actually took the trouble to memorise it!

Girish -- Sweet wasn't the word I thought of, but nice to hear from you. Most of my readers are the lurking variety!
